Description
Eighteen-year-old Jenny Stone is a first-year accounting student with a talent for making exceptional coffee and an unfortunate habit of following her father’s instructions. When he asks her to hand-deliver a letter to the mysterious Mr. Dente, Jenny expects a simple errand. Instead, she walks into an Upper East Side mansion filled with armed men and discovers that Giovanni Dente is not merely wealthy—he is a mafia boss.
The letter contains an even worse surprise. Jenny’s father has disappeared after accumulating a three-million-dollar debt and has offered his own daughter as collateral. Giovanni initially wants nothing to do with the loud, stubborn young woman standing in his office. After Jenny convinces him that her skills could be useful, however, he agrees to keep her alive—as his maid, servant and personal, round-the-clock coffee maker.
Filled with arguments, accidental nudity, coffee disasters, eccentric henchmen and exaggerated mafia threats, Maid to the Mafia is a fast, comedic introduction to Jenny and Giovanni’s relationship. It establishes their attraction and shared history rather than delivering a complete standalone romance.
