Description
Twenty-six-year-old Alyssa Winters is an ambitious corporate lawyer who avoids doctors whenever possible. After a mountain-bike accident leaves her needing stitches, she arrives at Memorial General Hospital and immediately begins arguing with the medical staff.
Dr. Chase Wright is a handsome physician in his mid-forties who has little patience for her stubborn behaviour. Their first examination quickly crosses professional boundaries when Chase responds to Alyssa’s defiance with spanking, intimate medical procedures and sexual stimulation. Alyssa is outraged by his methods but also discovers that his dominant authority awakens desires she has never explored.
Their lives become more complicated when Alyssa returns to the hospital as its legal representative. Her newest client is Chase, who is being threatened with a questionable malpractice lawsuit by a patient angry about receiving an unwanted gluten-intolerance diagnosis. Alyssa must defend the same doctor she had considered reporting.
The book ends with Alyssa and Chase openly declaring their love and accepting their unconventional relationship, with Chase promising that his difficult patient will remain under his firm care.
