Addison Greyer is trying to rebuild her life after being kidnapped and tortured by Scott Hammons. Scott has pleaded not guilty and secured release under electronic monitoring, leaving Addison convinced that he will eventually return to finish what he started. At the same time, her husband, Patrick, threatens to fight for their children if she leaves their already broken marriage.

Addison attempts to end her affair with wealthy businessman William Hartman, believing that their relationship creates too much danger and instability. William refuses to disappear quietly. He continues protecting her through a private security team and secretly pressures her former employer, Sondra, into bringing Addison back to the agency where they first became connected.

While Addison files for divorce, Patrick’s own secrets surface. He has been having an affair with his superior, Michele, who becomes pregnant. Addison accepts that their marriage is finished and encourages Patrick to build a life with Michele while they continue raising their sons together.

Seven months later, Addison and William are travelling with her sons and preparing to settle together in a new lakefront home. Patrick and Michele have welcomed a baby daughter, and Addison finally decides that she is ready to accept William’s repeated marriage proposals.
