Description

Nineteen-year-old Lindy returns home from college for her parents’ anniversary party and reconnects with Christopher Jones, the wealthy and intimidating owner of the company where her father works. Lindy has secretly desired Chris for years, while Chris is immediately attracted to the shy teenager who has grown into a confident young woman.

The situation turns darker when Chris reveals that Lindy’s father, Jim, has been stealing company money to cover his family’s expenses and college fees. Jim has already been fired, but Lindy desperately begs Chris to reconsider. Chris offers her a disturbing bargain: live in his mansion and belong to him for ten days, and he will allow her father to keep his job.

When the agreed period ends, Lindy returns to college believing that Chris only wanted her temporarily. Chris is equally miserable but worries that their age difference, his control over her father’s employment and the way their relationship began make a permanent future impossible. Lindy also struggles with the knowledge that her body was effectively exchanged for her father’s financial security.

After discussing the relationship with her parents, Lindy learns that they will support whatever genuinely makes her happy. She returns to Chris by choice, making it clear that she now wants him without any bargain attached. She later leaves her original college program, enrols in culinary school, marries Chris and gives birth to their daughter, Joanie.
