    “This Refund and Returns Policy applies to all purchases made on desitales-2.com, including orders placed via our mobile app, membership subscriptions, and bulk/gifting orders. It covers prepaid orders (UPI, card, net banking) as well as Cash on Delivery (COD) orders.

    We believe that buying a book should always be a joyful experience. If it isn’t — for any reason within our control — we will fix it. Our return process takes less than 2 minutes to initiate and requires nothing more than a single message to our team.”

    Our Return Promise

    Desitales-2 offers one of India’s most reader-friendly return policies. We process returns and refunds without bureaucracy, without making you feel guilty, and without asking you to jump through hoops.

    The short version: If your book arrives damaged, is the wrong title, has missing or misprinted pages, or was not as described — contact us within your return window and we will arrange a free pickup and issue a full refund or free replacement within 3–7 business days.”

    Return windows vary by membership plan — from 7 days on our free Paathak plan to 90 days on our premium Sangrahi Collector plan. All plans include free return pickup from your delivery address.

    Return Windows by Plan

    Your return window is determined by your active Desitales-2 membership plan at the time of purchase. The window begins from the date of delivery, not the date of order.

       

        • 7 Days to Return –> Paathak · Free Plan –> Standard return window for all free account holders.

         

          • 15 Days to Return –> Rasik · Reader Plan –> Extended window for ₹199/month members.

           

            • 30 Days to Return –> Sahitya · Literary Plan –> Generous window for ₹399/month members.

             

              • 90 Days to Return –> Sangrahi · Collector Plan –> White-glove window for ₹799/month members.

            Upgrade tip: If you upgrade your membership plan after placing an order, the longer return window of your new plan applies retroactively to orders placed in the last 30 days.

            What Can Be Returned

            We accept returns in the following circumstances, provided the request is made within your applicable return window:

            Damaged on Arrival

            The book arrived with a torn cover, broken spine, water damage, bent pages, or any physical damage caused during transit.

            Wrong Title or Edition

            You received a different book, a different edition, or a different language version from what you ordered.

            Printing Defects

            The book contains missing pages, blank pages, repeated sections, misprints, or illegible text due to a manufacturing defect.

            Incomplete Set

            You ordered a multi-volume set or a book with accompanying materials (maps, inserts, CDs) and one or more components are missing.

            Significantly Not as Described

            The book’s condition, edition, or format is materially different from what was described on our product page.

            Duplicate Order

            Our system charged you for and dispatched the same order twice due to a technical error.

            For all eligible returns: The book must be in the condition it was received. Do not attempt to repair or rebind a damaged book before returning it — this may affect our ability to process your return with the publisher.

            What Cannot Be Returned

            We are unable to accept returns in the following circumstances. We have listed these clearly so there are no surprises:

               

                • Change of Mind — You purchased a book and later decided you no longer want it, or found it cheaper elsewhere. We are unable to accept change-of-mind returns.

                • Books Already Read — A book that has been read, annotated, highlighted, or otherwise used cannot be returned. This is a hygiene and fairness policy.

                • Damage Caused by the Buyer — If the damage to the book was caused after delivery — through mishandling, water exposure, or other buyer-side causes — we cannot accept the return.

                • Returns Beyond the Window — Returns requested after your applicable return window has expired cannot be processed, regardless of the reason.

                • Digital Downloads & eBooks — All digital purchases, eBook downloads, and PDF deliveries are non-refundable once the download link has been accessed.

                • Personalised or Custom Orders — Books ordered with custom inscriptions, personalised gifting messages physically printed, or special bulk customisation cannot be returned.

                • Membership Fees — Monthly or annual membership subscription fees are non-refundable after the billing date. You may cancel future renewals at any time.

              If in doubt, contact us first. Our team reviews every case individually. Even in grey areas, we try to find a fair resolution — especially for long-term Desitales-2 members.”

              How to Initiate a Return

              We have made the return process as simple as possible. No long forms. No call centre queues. Just one message to our team and we handle the rest.

              Contact Us Within Your Return Window

              Email us at info@desitales-2.com or WhatsApp us at 011-23273387 with your Order ID and a brief description of the issue. Attach a photo of the damaged or incorrect book if applicable.

              We Verify & Approve Your Return

              Our team will review your request within 24 business hours and send you a Return Authorisation (RA) number along with pickup instructions.

              Free Pickup from Your Doorstep

              Our logistics partner will schedule a free pickup from your delivery address within 48–72 hours of approval. Keep the book in its original packaging if possible.

              Refund or Replacement Processed

              Once we receive and inspect the returned book, your refund will be processed within 3–7 business days to your original payment method, or a replacement copy will be dispatched the same day.

              Refund Methods & Timeline

              Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. The timeline depends on your payment method and your bank’s processing speed.

                 

                  • UPI / GPay / PhonePe –> 1 – 3 Business Days –> Refunded directly to the UPI ID used at checkout. Fastest refund method.

                   

                    • Credit / Debit Card –> 5 – 7 Business Days –> Refunded to your card. Timing depends on your card issuer’s processing cycle.

                     

                      • Net Banking / IMPS –> 3 – 5 Business Days –> Refunded to the bank account linked to your net banking at checkout.

                       

                        • Cash on Delivery –> 5 – 7 Business Days –> Refunded via NEFT/IMPS to a bank account you provide. See Section 07 for details.

                         

                          • Desitales-2 Store Credit –> Within 24 Hours –> Choose store credit instead of a refund and get an additional 5% bonus credited to your account.

                           

                            • Free Replacement Copy –> Dispatched Same Day –> Prefer a new copy of the same book? We’ll dispatch it the same day the return is received.

                          Store Credit Bonus: Choosing Desitales-2 Store Credit instead of a cash refund earns you an additional 5% bonus on the refund amount — our way of saying thank you for staying with us. “

                          COD Order Returns

                          Cash on Delivery orders are fully covered by our returns policy. Since payment was made in cash, refunds for COD orders are processed via NEFT / IMPS bank transfer to a bank account of your choosing.

                             

                              • When initiating a return on a COD order, provide your bank account number, IFSC code, and account holder name along with your return request.

                               

                                • Refunds for COD orders are typically processed within 5–7 business days of the returned book being received and inspected at our facility.

                                 

                                  • Alternatively, COD customers may opt for Desitales-2 Store Credit credited within 24 hours of return approval, with the 5% bonus included.

                                   

                                    • COD customers may also choose a free replacement copy instead of a refund, dispatched at no additional charge.

                                  No bank account? No problem. We can issue your refund as a Desitales-2 Store Credit or arrange an alternative refund method. Contact us to discuss. “

                                  Damaged or Defective Books

                                  If your book arrives damaged, defective, or in a condition that makes it unreadable, we treat this as a priority return — regardless of your membership plan or return window.

                                  Please follow these steps immediately upon receiving a damaged book:

                                     

                                      • Do not discard the original packaging: The packaging helps us determine whether the damage occurred in transit or at the warehouse.

                                      • Photograph the damage: cover, spine, pages, and packaging — before contacting us. This speeds up approval significantly.

                                      • Email info@desitales-2.com: with your Order ID, photos, and a brief description. Use subject line: “Damaged Book — [Order ID]”

                                      • Our team will approve your return within – 4 business hours – for damage claims — faster than our standard 24-hour window.

                                    Priority handling: Damage claims are escalated automatically in our system. You will not need to follow up — we will reach out to you proactively once the return is approved.

                                    Wrong Item Received

                                    If you received a book that is different from what you ordered — wrong title, wrong author, wrong language, or wrong edition — this is entirely our error and we will resolve it at zero cost and inconvenience to you.

                                    Rare & Collector’s Editions

                                    Rare books, first editions, signed copies, and collector’s editions are subject to a modified returns policy due to their unique and often irreplaceable nature.

                                       

                                        • All rare and collector’s editions are photographed and condition-graded by our team before dispatch. A condition report is included with every rare book order.

                                        • Returns on rare editions are accepted – only if the book’s condition differs materially from the condition report – provided at the time of purchase.

                                        • Change-of-mind returns are – not accepted – on rare or collector’s editions.

                                        • Signed copies and limited-edition prints are – final sale – unless they arrive damaged or are materially not as described.

                                        • Sangrahi (Collector) plan members receive priority dispute resolution for all rare edition issues, with a dedicated curator available to assist.

                                      Important: If you are unsure about a rare edition’s condition before purchasing, please contact our team at info@desitales-2.com and we will provide additional photographs and a detailed condition assessment before you commit to the purchase.”
